These are real pages from the book. The table of contents is the full one: 8 parts and 68 topics.

It's Not That You Have a Bad Memory. It's That Nobody Put It in Order for You.

You've read the venting section three times: trap arm, vent, fixture units, the IPC table and the UPC table. You close the code book...

...and the next day you can't say which length goes with which pipe, or why. It was just one table after another.

Curb stop, meter, main shutoff, PRV, heater: the supply path in 8 numbered stops

Here the trap arm is one page with the drawing: the trap, the arm, the vent and the length between them, with the IPC and UPC limits side by side.

And on the pages next to it, every part of the DWV gets its own: the trap seal, drain slope, fixture units, kinds of vents, AAVs, cleanouts and testing.

First you understand why it's piped that way. Then the order sticks on its own.

SEE THE DIFFERENCE

Stop memorizing code rules you can't picture:

THIS
  • Pages and pages of dense text
  • Code sections without a single drawing
  • On the exam, you don't know where to start
Seamless copper water tube is manufactured in accordance with ASTM B88 in three wall thicknesses, designated Type K, Type L and Type M, Type K having the heaviest wall and Type M the lightest for any given nominal size. Copper drainage tube, designated Type DWV and manufactured to ASTM B306, has a wall thinner than Type M and is not intended for pressurized water distribution. Tube types are identified by continuous colored markings applied along the length of the tube, the color corresponding to the type designation.
FOR THIS
  • Every rule drawn
  • One topic per page, with the rules in boxes
  • You remember it because you've seen it

What If Every Topic Fit on a Single Page?

Imagine this:

Instead of rereading half a page on the drain, waste and vent system without being able to picture it...

...you open the page and find one house with the trap, fixture drain, stack, building drain and building sewer, all labeled.

Toilet rough-in 12 in, side clearance 15 in, front 21 in (IPC) vs 24 in (UPC).

And copper types, the supply path, backflow, the toilet rough-in and the T&P valve turn into drawings and tables you can read at a glance.

You stop repeating and start understanding.

That's exactly what Plumbing Made Visual does. It's not “just another manual.” It's 8 parts and 68 illustrated topics, and at the end 30 original practice questions with explained answers and the numbers to know in 12 tiles.

Because what your brain sees organized, it remembers.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I receive it?

Plumbing Made Visual comes as a high-resolution PDF by email, to the address you enter at checkout. You can read it on your phone or print it. The two bonus books, Isometric Drawing Workbook and Plumbing Practice Exam, also come by email.

Is it a monthly or a one-time payment?

One-time payment of $27. No installments and no subscription. At checkout you'll see optional add-on books: you only pay for the ones you choose to add.

Who is it for?

For plumbing apprentices, for anyone preparing for a journeyman or master license exam, and for people already in the trade (helpers, handymen, maintenance techs) who want the why behind the code. Part 1 covers the basics in a few pages (safety, tools, plumbing math) for apprentices. If you already do the work, you'll spend most of your time in parts 2 to 8: pipe, supply, DWV and venting, fixtures, water heaters, gas and the numbers to know.

Does it work for my state's exam? Some use the IPC, others the UPC.

The book follows the 2021 International Plumbing Code (ICC) and the 2021 Uniform Plumbing Code (IAPMO). Where they differ, the page shows both, so you study the one your state adopted. Gas follows the 2021 IFGC and NFPA 54, water-use limits follow 10 CFR 430 and job-site safety follows OSHA 29 CFR 1926. If your state is on a newer edition or uses a different plumbing code (like Massachusetts, Illinois or New Jersey), the drawings and the why still apply, but check every number against your code book. The code your state or city adopted, with its amendments, always rules.

Is it official material?

No. It's an independent study guide. It isn't published by or affiliated with the ICC, IAPMO or any state licensing board, and it doesn't come with a certificate or CE hours. It doesn't replace the code book adopted where you work: it sits next to it. The code book gives you the section. This gives you the drawing and the why, one topic per page, with the IPC and UPC on the same page.

Does it replace my apprenticeship or trade school?

No. It's a study and review aid. It doesn't replace your apprenticeship, trade school, supervised hours on the job or the code book your exam allows.

Are the practice questions the ones on the exam?

No. The 30 questions in the book and the mock exam in the bonus were written for this book. They aren't official exam questions: they're for practice.

Can I print it?

Yes. The PDF prints well page by page or as a whole book, so you can keep it in the truck or take it to the job.

What if I don't like it?

You have 30 days. Tell us what didn't work and we'll refund 100% of what you paid.

One Last Thing Before You Decide...

You don't have to reread the same page hoping it sticks this time.

You don't have to memorize code sections you can't picture.

And you definitely don't have to walk into the exam not knowing where to start.

There's an easier way. And it's one click away. Now it's your turn.
